The NYC Ferry service launched one of its first ferry rides Monday, departing from Wall Street and arriving in Sunset Park.
Two of the six Ferry lines are now running and will serve Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan.
Riders paid $2.75 per ride and an additional $1 to bring items like bicycles aboard.
Passengers said they didn't mind the price and that they were just glad there was another way to get around the city.
The ferry features Wi-Fi and is equipped with battery-charging stations and concession stands. The ferries can hold about 150 passengers.
"It's quicker, it's cheaper, no traffic," said commuter Maureen Gearty. "It's just wonderful, it's a great ride."
More stops in south Brooklyn will be added next month, but for now, the ferry will only make stops in the Rockaways, Sunset Park and in lower Manhattan.
