According to netcredit, the average cost of a 6.2-mile ride is $34.74 in the city. That same ride in other parts of the nation is significantly cheaper - $19 in Philadelphia and $13 in El Paso, Texas.
Uber blames the increased rates on spiking gas prices and driver shortage.
