Police say a woman was fatally struck by a train at the Franklin Avenue C train station in Prospect Heights.

EMS personnel were on the scene wheeling the woman away on a stretcher.

Police say she was on the tracks as a southbound C train entered the station.

The train was not able to stop in time.

The woman was pronounced dead a short time later at Kings County Hospital.
