If you want to get one last visit to the city pool in before summer comes to an end, you're in luck.
Normally Labor Day is the last day to get a swim in at one of the city pools, but Mayor Bill de Blasio just announced this year that you'll have an extra week of splashing in the water this summer.
The mayor says residents will have until Sept. 12 this year. If you plan on making a trip, be sure to wear a bathing suit and a light-colored T- shirt to protect your skin from sun damage.
Also, don't forget to lock up your personal items in a locker while taking a dip in order to keep it protected. Most of the pools are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a break from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. for cleaning, according to the Parks Department.
