Monday was a holiday for New York City public school students, and it was the perfect day to enjoy the outdoors.
Around 1,500 kids attended the New York Junior Tennis and Learning Aces Afterschool Fall Festival. The activities were held at the Cary Leeds Center in Crotona Park.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade rotated through a variety of fall activities from pumpkin picking to carnival games. They also were taught basic tennis skills by NYJTL coaches and got to play the fast-paced game.
The fall festival also celebrated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
There was a DJ on site who played classic hits while the kids enjoyed the fall day.
