The surprise hit mobile game Wordle has been purchased by the New York Times,
the publication said in a story
earlier today.
According to the New York Times, it purchased the app from Brooklyn-based creator Josh Wardle for a price "in the low seven figures."
The Times says the game will initially stay free to play.
