New Yorkers flocked to Coney Island amid the heat Thursday.
Many in the crowds said they want to keep the summer lasting as long as possible.
Residents who had to work said they went down to the boardwalk during their breaks. Others even took the day off to catch a tan or jump into the ocean.
"I was born in the summertime," says Ron Roth, who came out from Manhattan. "So my theory is if you were born in the summer, you like the heat. If you're born in the winter, you like the cold."
Meteorologists say Friday will be partially cloudy and slightly cooler.
