The New Jersey Department of Health Building has been renamed in honor of the state’s health commissioner.
The building will now be known as the Judith M. Persichilli Building because of her service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A ceremony was held in Trenton on Wednesday.
“I want to be clear: To all the colleagues at the Department of Health – every single one of you. Your names deserve to be on this building as well,” Persichilli said.
Persichilli became the commissioner of health two months before COVID-19 hit New Jersey.
