Young girls are recognizing their worth with the help of a nonprofit called Project East New York.
The organization runs a program called My Little Princess, which seeks to help girls in the area who do not have father figures in their lives.
Saturday was the last day of the workshop. Since January, the dozen girls met every week to develop trust and friendships. They also talked about their lives with social workers from Project East New York.
The workshops run twice a year. The next one begins in September.
