Noose painted on road outside home of African American family sparks hate crime probe in Chappaqua
New Castle police are investigating a possible hate crime after a noose was painted on the road outside the home of an African American family in Chappaqua.
The 200-foot blue noose was discovered Tuesday outside the house on Cross Ridge Road.
Police are also investigating another potential hate crime on Quaker Road in Chappaqua where a Black Lives Matter sign was set on fire last week.
New Castle Town Supervisor Ivy Poll tells News 12 she can not comment on active investigations, but says she does offer her full commitment to driving out the forces of hate from the community.
