A beloved Scandinavian shop in Bay Ridge is closing for good after decades of serving customers.
Nordic Delicacies on Third Avenue is a Norwegian family-owned business known for its waffles, fish cakes and fish pudding.
The owners say they have no choice but to close because they simply can't afford to stay in business due to rising costs in the city.
They say the deli is the only Norwegian retail store left in New York. A Scandinavian couple who spoke with News 12 say they travel from their home in upstate New York just to shop there.
The shop will close its doors for good on Jan. 31 or even sooner if they run out of products first.
