Nurses at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital voted to ratify a three-year contract agreement on Friday.

The New York State Nurses Association says this marks the end of a monthslong fight for a fair arrangement that maintains safe staffing standards and protections.

The contract includes preventative measures against workplace violence such as improved emergency response teams, weapons detection systems and additional paid time off for victimized nurses.

New arbitration language, safeguards against artificial intelligence and annual wage increases are also featured in the contract.

NYSNA members’ previous contract with the hospital expired on April 30.
