? Lawmakers promise to give their financial support to the Atlantic Rail Yards project.
The state will give the project $33 million, according to a spokesperson for Bruce Ratner, the developer and Nets team owner. However, the plan still needs final approval from Governor George Pataki (R-NY). Insiders feel the governor will sign off on the plan.
The MTA sold the location to the Nets last year. Ratner plans to build a new arena complete with a retail and residential complex.
