NYC expands safety resources ahead of Code Blue declaration

A Code Blue will go into effect in New York City at 4 p.m. Sunday, according to Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

In anticipation of the dangerously cold weather, the city is mobilizing all available safety resources.

Officials say there will be an increase in warm units until March 14.

Teams will also be on the streets providing blankets, warm clothing and hot meals to those in need.
