As people prepare for their planned gatherings for the holidays, the Omicron variant continues to spread like wildfire.
New York City officials are take-home rapid tests at locations in each of the five boroughs.
The Bronx location is in Soundview, at the corner of Morrison and Westchester avenues. The handouts will of the take-home tests will start at 9 a.m.
This is an effort to combat the testing lines that have been leaving people waiting for hours at a time. However, each of the locations is only handing out 2,000 tests.
The giveaway spot in Brooklyn is located at the intersection of 18th Avenue and 65th Street.
This comes on the heels of Gov. Kathy Hochul’s announcement that five additional testing sites will be added throughout the city next week, as well as introducing vaccination sites in Grand Central and Times Square MTA stations starting next Monday.
