A Prospect Heights playground is among six Brooklyn parks slated to receive major upgrades.
Construction will begin next year at Stroud Playground, which serves students at M.S. 353 and P.S. 316, as part of the Community Parks Initiative.
The city Parks Department program is making a $130 million capital investment toward recreating a total of 35 parks across the five boroughs. Kids can expect to see less asphalt and more greenery, and updated play equipment with new seating areas.
Some of the other Brooklyn parks receiving funding through the initiative are Thomas Boyland Park, Jesse Owen Playground and Saratoga Ballfields.
