The
city’s Parks Department is urging volunteers to sign up for the “Monday Morning
Pitch-In” – a way for people to help keep parks clean at the start of each
week.
News 12's
Mary-Lyn Buckley was at Kaiser Park in Coney Island as a small group
cleaned up the barbecue and picnic areas. The cleanup program was pushed
to Tuesday due to the holiday.
The
Parks Department is hoping volunteers will take two to three hours each
Monday to show love to one of the city’s 33 parks.
“Your
invaluable help will make parks cleaner, safer, and greener for our families,
pets, friends, and neighbors," reads the event info on the
Parks
Department website.
