New York City is preparing for approval to start administering Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster shots as well as COVID-19 vaccines for kids 5 to 11 years old.

Pfizer booster shots are already available for those eligible. Soon, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson boosters might be added to the list.

If approved, people receiving the Moderna booster must have received their second dose at least six months ago. Recipients must also be 65 or older, have an underlying condition or work in a high-risk environment such as health care or education.

As for the Johnson & Johnson booster, officials are recommending you wait two months after receiving the single-dose vaccine and you must be at least 18 years old. Mayor Bill de Blasio and city Health Commissioner Dr. Dave Chokshi says the city is also putting an emphasis on getting kids vaccinated once they are allowed
