The
New York City Public Library has partnered up with Test & Trace Corps to
host mobile vaccine clinics for kids ages 5 to 11 at more than a dozen city
libraries.
These
sites will be held on several Saturdays starting this weekend and through
February at the 16 participating library branches.
The full schedule of the COVID-19 vaccination sites can be
found
here.Since there is no COVID-19 vaccine for children under age 5
yet, doctors say it’s crucial for those who are eligible to get vaccinated to
reach heard immunity.
"We're probably not able to reach that number without
getting that 2 to 5 age group. But if more and more people who are eligible in
the 5 and up age group get it, then we get closer and closer, which makes us
closer to potentially ending this pandemic,” says Dr. Ilana Stein, a
pediatrician at St. Barnabus.
