The New York City public school system is expanding the Gifted and Talented program to every district in the city, the mayor and schools chancellor announced Thursday.
Essentially, it means they are expanding 100 kindergarten seats and 1,000 third grade seats while expanding entry points to all districts.
"We have talked to parents all across the city, and we are delivering on what they asked for," said Chancellor David C. Banks.
"We are giving every child in every ZIP code the chance that has been denied too often," said Mayor Eric Adams.
