Thousands of students across New York City are heading back to school for the start of a new academic year.
One of the biggest changes this year is a new policy limiting the use of artificial intelligence in classrooms.

New screen-time guidelines are also being introduced.
Students in grades three through five will be limited to 30 minutes of screen time per day, while middle school students will be limited to 45 minutes.
Students in second grade and younger will not have individual screen time under the new guidelines.
School officials said students with disabilities and English language learners will continue to have access to assistive technology.
The district also emphasized that AI will not replace teachers.
Schools Chancellor Kamar Samuels is expected to visit several schools Thursday to mark the first day of the school year.
