NYCEDC announces relaunch of CleaNYC program

The city Economic Development Corporation has announced the relaunch of the CleaNYC program.
This is part of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s cleanliness initiative. Cleaning crews are already hard at work picking up trash that prohibit a clean environment across the city.
The city-funded program, in partnership with the Doe Fund, currently has 35 employees.
More than 25,000 pounds of trash has already been picked up and more than 280 miles of city blocks have been cleaned.
“Our crews typically consists of between three and five crew members. Their day starts anywhere between seven and eight am... they arrive on-site, they have their shift leader as well as their supervisor, and have a dedicated cleaning route.. that they tend to whether it be twice or three times a week,” said Assistant Director Nathan Moran.
