A Brooklyn woman says constant leaking is causing her entire apartment to fall apart.
Dolores Augustus said the issue first began in her bathroom a year after moving into the Red Hook Houses 5 1/2 years ago — but now the damage can be seen throughout the entire apartment.
"My whole bedroom ceiling is hanging now," said Augustus. "It's at a point now where my bed is getting wet and everything."
Augustus says despite numerous calls to NYCHA and 311, as well as multiple trips to housing court, nothing is being done.
"I want them to come and do their job," said Augustus. "I feel like they go home, they live comfortable. Why the tenants here can't live comfortable?'
Augustus said she heads back to court next month and hopes her home can finally be made whole again soon. NYCHA said they are working with her to address the leak and are in the process of scheduling plumbers to conduct repairs early next week.
