The New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU) is fighting back against the NYPD's Operation Clean Halls program that it says is creating a mess in Bronx apartment buildings.
The group plans to file a lawsuit today against the initiative, which allows police to patrol the lobbies and hallways in many residential buildings.
The officers are supposed to be on the lookout for trespassers and suspicious activity, but the NYCLU claims the they are abusing their power and putting guests at a greater risk for stop-and-frisk procedures.
