NYPD: 1 killed, another injured in shooting near Brownsville playground

Officers found a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his stomach at the scene.

A shooting across the street from a playground early Sunday morning in Brownsville left one person dead and another injured.
Police say a 911 call led officers to Glenmore Avenue just after 12 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his stomach.
He was hospitalized and later pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Officers say a 41-year-old man was also shot multiple times in the leg. He is expected to be OK.
An investigation is ongoing. Authorities have yet to release details about any possible suspects.
