A fire ripped through a brownstone Friday morning in Crown Heights- leaving one man fighting for his life and 11 others injured.

The smell of smoke remained as people walk by 658 Eastern Parkway. It has a full vacate order from the fire department.

Charred mattresses and suitcases are just some of the items in front of the building after a two-alarm fire broke out just before 10:30 a.m. Friday. It took firefighters over an hour to get the flames under control.

Police say 12 people in total were injured – including nine civilians and three firefighters. They range in age from 19 to 21.

News 12 was told the Red Cross is now assisting those impacted with financial help.

Details surrounding how the fire started were not available.
