Around $100,000 in jewelry was swiped from a Fordham store by two armed men who assaulted security, according to the NYPD.
Surveillance video shows two masked men entering Focus on Fordham Road near Jerome Avenue just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The security guard is seen asking the two men to remove their masks, and one pulls a firearm out and begins fighting the guard, hitting him in the head with the gun.
The second man jumps over the counter during the altercation, stripping the shelves of the store’s product. Managers say that the suspects knew exactly where to go and believe the robbery was pre-planned.
“Imagine the people come last time, check the merchandise in the store and say ‘okay, that, that, that’… they come direct, here, only here… and that’s it,” said store manager Ireni Santana.
Managers say the two robbers stole at least a dozen heavy chains and pendants. Police are continuing their investigation into finding these two thieves at this time who were last spotted running down Fordham Road.
