NYPD: 2 officers injured in Bed-Stuy car crash; driver charged

Both officers were hospitalized and are expected to be OK.

A crash left two officers hurt Sunday afternoon in Bed-Stuy, according to police.

Authorities say police were notified by a 47-year-old man that his white Toyota Camry was stolen by an unknown individual near Marcus Garvey Boulevard around 3:15p.m.

Shortly after, police spotted the stolen vehicle on Tompkins and Jefferson Avenue, when the vehicles collided.

Police say the driver of the stolen Camry, 30-year-old Kalvin Ellis of Coney Island, was arrested after attempting to flee the scene. He’s facing a slew of charges, including grand larceny and vehicle assault.

Two officers, along with the 47-year-old man were hospitalized with minor injuries. Both are expected to be OK.
