Two teenagers were shot outside of a school in Sunset Park, according to the NYPD.
The victims are two 18-year-old males, and both are expected to be OK. Officials say the teens were shot on the corner of 36th Street and Fourth Avenue, directly across from P371K and outside of a deli.
Sources say the two teenagers are students at P371K. Authorities say the incident started around 2:20 p.m., and officers found the two victims with bullet wounds to their shoulders. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
Officers were concentrated on the deli nearby as well as the outside of the school property. Nearby residents are concerned about the violence in their neighborhood.
“That’s scary… it seems the younger they are, the more and more crime and violence is going on,” said Christina, a local neighbor. “So, it’s sad.”
The NYPD has two people in custody at this time.
