An investigation is underway after a 24-year-old woman was struck and killed by a driver Tuesday morning.

Police say the woman was hit while walking outside the crosswalk on Flatlands at Ralph Avenue by a driver behind the wheel of a Ford Fusion.

The young woman was taken to a hospital where she died. At this time, her and the driver's identities are both unknown.

The driver stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
