The NYPD says a 27-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Soundview Monday night.

Authorities say they responded to the area of the Sotomayor Houses just after 9 p.m. and found the victim unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.

The incident happened a couple blocks from the 43rd Precinct.

The victim was taken to the hospital but didn't survive and was pronounced dead.

Police say the shooter left the scene.

For now, authorities don't have a motive or a reason for the shooting.
