The NYPD says a 40-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest and leg Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting happened just before 1:30 p.m. on 198th Street and Pond Avenue, according to police.

Authorities say the man, who is from Yonkers, was identified as Kavon Reid. They say he was taken to SBH Health System, where he later died.

One resident says they heard multiple shots and that their block is usually quiet.
