NYPD: 43-year-old cyclist fatally struck overnight in Bay Ridge

Authorities say they found a 43-year-old man lying on the roadway at around 2:40 a.m.

Police say a cyclist is dead after being struck on the Belt Parkway near 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge.

Authorities say they found a 43-year-old man lying on the roadway at around 2:40 a.m.

He was taken to the hospital where he pronounced dead.

Police say they are in the early stages of this investigation, but they have determined the cyclist was traveling west bound on the east bound shoulder of the Belt Parkway when he collided with a car.

The driver did remain on the scene.

Police say there are no arrests as the investigation continues.
