NYPD: 5 people injured after 89-year-old driver has medical episode in Bensonhurst

Police say the driver struck three people before crashing into a building.

A Wednesday evening car crash injured five people in Bensonhurst, police say.
Authorities tell News 12 an 89-year-old man suffered a medical episode while driving and losing control of his car at around 7:15 p.m. near 18th Avenue and 76th Street.
The car struck three people: a man on a scooter, a man inside a parked car and another man on the sidewalk before crashing into a building.
A woman was riding in the car with that 89-year-old driver. Both of them and the three other victims were all taken to the hospital.
Police say none of the injuries are major.
