Police confirm the 20-year-old armed suspect in Monday's deadly police-involved shooting in East Flatbush was also the victim of a robbery crime.
According to authorities, the 20-year-old man who was seen chasing two people down Remsen Avenue Monday night while firing a gun was robbed just minutes before that chase. It's unclear if the two people being chased were involved in the robbery.
Ring camera footage captured the scene as the man and woman ran. Four officers in an unmarked car eventually arrived and that's when police say they fatally shot the man.
A 19-year-old who may have been part of the chase was taken into custody.
Police say Jeremiah Adams was arrested for an unrelated shooting that took place on March 7th in Brownsville. He was charged with attempted murder, robbery, and assault.
According to court records, he pled not guilty to all those charges Tuesday night. Police could not immediately say what role if any he played in Monday's foot chase.
Amid that shoot out, officers say a 60-year-old man was hit by two bullets. People who live in the area say he was working nearby as a mechanic. He is expected to recover.
