The police chief has a message for anyone trying to cause harm or damage.
"Don't even try it," Monahan says. "We know who you are, and you will be arrested."
Monahan says there are plans in place for possible "freeze zones" in the city if there is unrest after the election.
However, he says that they do not expect to have to utilize them.
The zones would restrict pedestrian and automobiles in parts of the city.
If freeze zones are implemented, he says that police will provide further instructions.
