NYPD members faced off against the Cypress Hills community Wednesday in a friendly game of pickup basketball.
The goal of the matchup was to build a positive relationship between police and inner-city kids.
The teens from the Cypress Hills and Pink houses say the game changed their minds about police for the better, but others say they were still suspicious of officers.
The game was set up by local community advocacy groups. Organizers say that even if the game didn't change everyone's minds, it will help them see police officers as people, not just a uniform, in the long run.
