A Thanksgiving morning shooting in East New York sent a man to the hospital, according to the NYPD.
Police say he was standing on Vermont Street between Livonia and Dumont avenues when he felt a pain in his left foot.
Police say he realized he had been shot and went back inside his apartment, leaving behind a trail of blood before first responders took him to an area hospital.
"I was really surprised to see so many police officers here but I feel comforted knowing that we are well taken care of in the 75th Precinct. It's a great place to live," said neighbor Lea O' Neal.
Police say no one is in custody at this time. They say the suspect was seen wearing all black.
