Police say a Bronx man has been accused of stabbing an EMT worker multiple times inside of her own ambulance Wednesday night in Manhattan.

According to the NYPD, Rudy Garcia, 48, attacked a 25-year-old on-duty EMT worker inside of an ambulance. The Emergency Medical Services Public Advocacy Council says Garcia stabbed her six times in her abdomen, leg and arm.

In a press release from that council, the victim's partner wasn't able to reach her inside of the patient compartment when she was being attacked due to the truck having only one key. They say at the time of the stabbing, that key was in the victim's possession.

"I Want to wish her a speedy recovery, as we know she was injured last night, there's a lot more like her out there doing their jobs taking care of New Yorkers under incredible conditions,” said Mayor Eric Adams.

He is facing multiple charges after the attack outside of Mount Sinai Morningside at around 9 p.m. in Midtown.

The victim was able to fight her way out of the vehicle, throwing herself onto the street. She is being treated at Mount Sinai Morningside where she is in stable condition.

The EMS Advocacy Council also said these attacks are happening daily, and now they’re asking police to back them up with a quicker response time when they’re in need.

The NYPD say there is no timeline on when that suspect will be arraigned. He is still being treated at St. Luke's Hospital.
