NYPD: Group assaulted Asian woman on subway for not wearing a mask

Authorities say a group of individuals engaged in a verbal dispute back on Dec. 17, which then escalated to a physical attack with the woman for not wearing a face mask.

A hate crime investigation is underway after police say an Asian woman was attacked in a Manhattan subway station for not wearing a mask.
Authorities say a group of individuals engaged in a verbal dispute back on Dec. 17, which then escalated to a physical attack with the woman for not wearing a face mask.
They say the individuals made anti-Asian statements and punched the victim in the face multiple times as she was riding the southbound A Train. The suspects then fled from the train near the Avenue of Americas and the West Fourth Street stop.
The victim experienced bruising and pain.
