A man is behind bars this morning after taking police on a chase that ended in a shootout Thursday in the Bronx.

A man is behind bars this morning after taking police on a chase that ended in a shootout Thursday in the Bronx.
News 12 is told it all started when officers spotted two vehicles speeding on 156th Street and Hewitt Place shooting at each other.
The “road rage” incident, as officials are calling it, happened around 10:30 p.m.
Police say two officers started chasing after one of the vehicles, a black BMW, which eventually crashed into a parked car on 156thStreet and Prospect Avenue.
News 12 is then told the driver of the black BMW started firing shots at the officers as he tried to make a run for it. Police fired back and ended up catching up to the suspect.
Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the other vehicle involved surrendered at the scene and all three were taken into custody.
The 28-year-old man who shot at police is behind bars. His charges are pending.
