A hit-and-run early Sunday morning in Cypress Hills left a 31-year-old man critically injured, according to police.

Authorities say the victim was riding a moped when a red SUV struck him at the corner of Etna Street and Hale Avenue just after 1 a.m.

He was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

Residents say they could hear the collision from inside of their homes around 1:17 a.m.

The four-way stop intersection is a known problem in the area. One man told News 12 that he had been T-boned at the same intersection months earlier.

No arrests have been made yet.
