One of many celebrations was held during the 38th annual National Night Out - including in East New York, where police and the community came together.
From dance battles, music, bouncy houses and more, there was plenty of celebrating, but many in attendance were focused on standing in unison.
Mayor Eric Adams made an appearance to present a proclamation award at Robert E. Venable Park, hosted by the 75th Precinct. He said the event was necessary, but that raising awareness to stay out of crime and use community resources is the next step.
Mayor Adams also stopped in the Bronx at an event held by the 44th Precinct as part of the greater mission for the night out – to make city streets safer.
