An NYPD officer was injured while responding to a robbery in Bushwick.
Police say they received a call of a robbery in progress at a pizzeria on Broadway around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived at the scene, they say they found a man brandishing a knife.
Officers say they asked the suspect to drop the weapon but he refused. That's when one officer fired his gun.
No one was hit, but an officer was hospitalized for excessive ringing in the ear.
Police were able to arrest the 27-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released. Officials say charges are pending.
