A published report Wednesday alleges NYPD officers may have helped a colleague cover-up that he was drunk after allegedly running over an East Flatbush woman.
"It's a tragedy that deserves closest scrutiny," says Mayor Michael Bloomberg, responding to the New York Post report. "If true, allegations of a DWI hit-and-run cover-up are reprehensible. Only an investigation will tell us what took place."
Sources tell News 12 Officer Andrew Kelly had no alcohol in his system when he was given a blood-alcohol test about seven hours after the Sunday accident, in which Vionique Valnord was killed.
