NYPD steps up security during Passover

The NYPD says while there are no credible threats to the city, they are deploying resources to houses of worship and sensitive locations throughout the city.

As New Yorkers get ready to celebrate Passover, they may see extra police outside of houses of worship. News 12 crews found police stationed out front of the Riverdale Jewish Center. The NYPD says while there are no credible threats to the city, they are deploying resources to houses of worship and sensitive locations throughout the city. NYPD Police Commissioner Edward Caban also tweeted out that they hosted a Passover security briefing at One Police Plaza last week to prepare.
“It's important that we reinforce the relationships we've built with the community we serve," he said.
