Authorities say a 24-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection to the fatal stabbings inside a Bensonhurst apartment on Friday.

Shahboz Rajabboev was charged with murder in the first degree and four counts of murder in the second degree.

According to police, 56-year-old Fayzieva Mavlyuda, 27-year-old Maftuna Khakimova, 5-year-old Kamila Shavkatova and 4-year-old Timur Shavkatov, were found with multiple stab wounds in their home on Saturday.

Residents gathered in front of the apartment building at 1590 West 8th Street and held a vigil. Toys, candy, flowers and candles were placed there.
