A U-Haul truck driver was arrested on Saturday night after hitting multiple cars during a police chase in East New York.

The NYPD says officers ran the truck’s plates at around 11:30 p.m. and found it matched a vehicle that had previously ran into a police car.

When police attempted to pull the 23-year-old driver over, he fled and hit multiple cars including an NYPD vehicle.

Police say the suspect tried to run after wrecking the truck on Dumont and Atkins avenues.

Police say the unnamed driver is being charged with reckless endangerment, driving with a suspended license and failure to obey lawful order.

The suspect also had active warrants before the incident occurred, authorities say.
