2h agoPolice are keeping a close eye on Prospect Park after a woman was found dead there on Tuesday.
Law enforcement officials say the woman’s body was found just after 11 a.m. with visible trauma to the head. Officers were spotted scanning the nearby wooded area in Prospect Park with flashlights as they continue to investigate the scene, which contains multiple homeless encampments.
Police were spotted putting up Crime Stoppers flyers around the area. One witness told News 12 that overnight he heard screaming and fighting, and he believes that the victim was one of the homeless people here, just feet away from a popular running and biking path.
The medical examiner is actively working to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
