An NYPD officer who served Brooklyn is dead following a motorcycle crash on Rockaway Parkway.
According to police, the officer was off-duty and riding a Ducati motorcycle between Avenue J and Flatlands Avenue Monday night when a driver in front of him pulled a U-turn across the double yellow divider lines, causing him to smash into the passenger side front door of the SUV.
The 35-year-old officer, whose identity has not yet been released, was ejected from his bike. He was rushed to Brookdale Hospital and pronounced dead.
The 28-year-old female driver of the SUV was also taken to the hospital for neck and back pain. There were two 3-year-old boys in the backseat, but they were not hurt.
No arrests have been made at his time, and the investigation is ongoing.
